With the most recent polls [for those of you that have to live by them] put the Rudster and Fred Thompson at almost a statistical dead heat with Rudy Giuliani sporting 27% of those polled supporting his nomination and 23% for the late entry Fred Thompson... but was he a late entry? No, he entered by the normal registry time... the democrat potentials wanted to get an early start because they have a lot to loose if their person doesn't get elected. They would have wasted tens of millions of Mr. Insurgent's [that would be George Soros] financial interventionalism. But with a commentary from a significant voice in the American Evangelical community Dr. James Dobson had withdrew support for the former Senator from Tennessee and as a result drew a good bit of understandable criticism from not only party officials but voices within the Christian voting constituency... which let's be frank. Without their vote the RNC will fail to secure a viable nominee that will beat any of the DNC hopefuls.
Now enter whom I gather is playing out to be a bit of the spoiler [if you will] in the conservative ranks. Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani... He was the mayor that got the best publicity one could ever hope for back in 2001 with the 9/11 terrorist attacks. All he had to do is stand at ground zero and repeat the seething sentiments of the moment and pose the question... "2008? maybe?" Being Mayor of New York does not entitle you a shot for the Whitehouse in my opinion. He was the principal administrator for the state [of mind] that let carpet-bagger Hillary Clinton step into NYC just to set up a potential run for 2008. First question would be what the heck is wrong with the people of New York? Are you really that liberal? Do you really want a pair of granny pants in the Whitehouse that bad?
Rudiani is a spoiler in the values contingent, that is to say those who see a value in preserving the union, not so much a matter of religious beliefs [which I believe is over played a bit by the left] but by those who knows what it takes to keep our nations constitutional guarantees viable for future generations... in plain speaking, their children’s future.
Where Rudiani divides the party:
•
Gay Marriage: Had two marriages and both failed, and was caught up in an affair... if he can't govern his personal passions he will not see eye to eye with values voters on same-sex unions, as he roomed with a gay pair after his marriage dissolved.
•
Abortion: He is a vocal proponent of abortion as a head of state it sends a very confusing message about whose life is valuable? As a RNC hopeful he stands to drive a rift between the ranks of the RNC because of his position. Our constitution was created [in a larger sense] to protect those who cannot defend themselves especially against those who couldn't [first] govern their behavior and if not abstain form a situation that an unwanted pregnancy would result, or at least for those secular minded... use a prophylactic or some form of birth control. But not embroil the nation in a clearly immoral practice that jeopardizes our population replenishment and tax base growth.
Where Rudiani Galvanizes the Party?
•
Middle East: He has voiced a strong sentiment to keep our troop active as long as it takes to help stabilize the situation over in Iraq. As long as the Shiite government is established in any volume, it will keep Iran’s eyes focused on what we are doing over there… because in the end this is all about Iran and Syria.
•
Border Security: is important to the Rudiani – so he has voiced, but I haven’t heard any real plan of his, so the jury is still out on him on that topic.
•
Aggressive Tax Reductions: He has spoken vigilantly on a strategy to energize our economy and would be an ardent consensus builder there. But taxes aren’t the only problem with our economy.
However… no mention of education reform ever came from his lips… but considering how he lives, that is to be expected. These are heavily divisive issues that really have conservative voters on the fence, but really… why would they have to be on the fence…. One of the reasons our framers decided on the two party system is because [and I agree] you will be either right or wrong on a given issue… a third party is a fence sitter, and [although] Rudiani isn’t a third party candidate, he is parting the Red Sea of Red state voters… the rift clearly between selfish dollar bill atheists and traditional social conservatives… but this so-called Neo-Con vote is really nothing more than a democrat from the 60’s – strong on defense, not the fence… clear on moral objectives, but socialistic in their approach to tax spending.
That is not the liberal of today.. they so far to the left they can’t get right. So they call anything that doesn’t fit their narrow bandwidth social purview conservative – but since they don’t actually have the same overall moral outlook as more traditional constructivist position, they get [rightfully] branded. Giuliani is steadily decreasing in the polls against southern fried, conservative, Reagan Republican [so-called] Fred Thompson… But he still commands a steady lead as the top contender period for the RNC nod, how this could be is beyond me – but I feel Dr. Dobson was right in his comments taken out in a full page ad in the New York Times venting their displeasure in what they see is a steer toward the left, and any such move would not get their participation – and that this unanimity guaranteed as an outcome of a convention held by the leaders in the Evangelical community this past week in Salt Lake City, Utah… Boy, I bet the Mormon’s loved that one.
Rudy Giuliani’s participation in the race to this point appears to be nothing but the spoiler at this point… and will continue to fracture things until there is a clear galvanization in the ranks on what values will not be taken for granted. We cannot have a candidate that uses their vote to get in, then proceeds to do what they want. There is enough of that going on right now in both parties. The shot across the bow from Jim Dobson will actually serve to help more than anything… the RNC is running like a 19 year old with a scorching case of ADHD trying to build a political ship in a bottle, it’s gonna be real tough. They need to simplify and get their clear objectives out to people, Americans hold [by in large] conservative social values, but the confusion slips in when there are baited by socialist carrots with a dangerous agenda attached to it…If they can be clear, concise, deliver a solid plan, and offer candidates people want over what their so-called elites want in… they stand a chance of building a more solid base quicker, rather than having to fight auphill battle with the nut crowd on the left for the post nod race for 2008.
